Title: Open pilot flight controller still compatible?
Post by: gaiastellar on February 18, 2018, 01:03:44 pm
Hi,
I was looking on hobbyking and a saw a flight controller loaded with openpilot firmware. Would this be compatible with librapilot windows control software or would the f.c have to be reflashed with latest version of librapilot?
Thanks

Hi,
Every "OpenPilot flight controller" can be used with LibrePilot
Look the Supported Hardware (https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LPDOC/pages/31588369/Supported+Hardware) wiki page.

GCS software and FC firmware versions must match.

Either:
- (not recommended) For the firmware that is on it you must get the exact same matching GCS (laptop software).  That is probably a very old version of OpenPilot.
- (recommended) Or you must get the latest "package" of GCS and firmware and flash firmware that matches the GCS.  For instance the latest version of LibrePilot.
