I have tried half a dozen times to install release 16.09. The .exe goes through the installation procedure, I leave ticked to start following installation. Librepilot does not start, and the desktop shortcut tells me that the item 'librepilot .exe' has been changed or moved. I noticed that the installation process was installing to the x86 program folder, so I tried putting it in the 'program' folder, but it didn't make any difference. I have not trouble installing 15.09. I have however, just bought a hex which has already been set up, and when I connect it to 15.09. I am asked to update as the GCS is the wrong version. I don't want to lose all the programming for the hex, so I guess I really need to install 16.09.
Can anyone help me with what I am doing wrong? It all looks so easy, but why doesn't this new version install?
thanks Dave.

Have you rebooted recently?
Are you sure you have enough disk space on all your connected drives?
-
Yeh, heaps of room ... rebooted many times ... when I look under the apps in windows 10 for Librepilot, there is no .exe file there ...ver 15.09 installs with no problems, and the desktop shortcut works fine. If I go into windows apps fo 15.09 and click on Librepilot, there are 10 icons there, two of which are Librepilot GCS and Librepilot GCS (Clean Configuration ). If I click on either of these, the application runs ok. These icons are also there if I install 16.09, but when I click on the icons for those two, I just get the message that the .exe file has been moved, or something like that, and nothing opens. I will uninstaall 15.09, and have another go at 16.09, but this is getting very frustrating, and no one else seems to be having a problem installing the 16.09.
thanks Dave

Perhaps you have some over zealous antivirus or antimalware running?
I don't use Windows, but does it actually install an exe in something like
c:\program files (x86)\librepilot
or a subdirectory under that (bin, exe, etc)?
Browse there with Windows Explorer and find the actual exe (.exe extent probably hidden by default) and double click to run it.

I too cannot install Libre pilot it refuses to run it all seems to be there but my PC informs me that it is bringing in malaware so I have just decided that life is too short to waste any more time on this, the controller has now entered the waste bin along with the other chocolate teapots >:( betaflight here I come goodbye.

Sometimes there is false alarms depending on antivirus used.
According to www.virustotal.com website there is 61 antivirus software saying there is no viruses and one reporting this is a malware:

Thanks for the reply f5soh but I'm not sure how it helps or if I understand what I do with it!! in any event my computer tells me it is Adware.Elex so it gets rejected, I find myself in a catch 22 situation and not only me it seems.

Hi I have installed 15.09 works fine sadly 16.096 is a dud as far as i'm concerned, sorry as far as my PC is concerned.
-
This simply mean your antivirus software think the LibrePilot16.09 installer is a malware where many others says there is no malware.
This theme was already discussed a few times in this forum:

Hi f5soh thanks for the info but you see as far as I am concerned the problem is firmly in Libre Pilots camp expecting me to take it for granted and tell my malware it's OK is not an option especially as it recognises a specific Malware so as far as I'm concerned it stays off my computer 15.09 works fine thank you.
