Title: FS-iA6B Receiver Flysky i6 Very limited range
Post by: PaulO on June 25, 2017, 03:49:34 am
I was out testing my Eachine Falcon 250 today. It has a Flysky i6 transmitter and a FS-iA6B Receiver. I am only getting about 0.2 km (0.15 miles) before I loosing signal and my Eachine FPV goggles don't go much further maybe 0.3 km. I do realize they are not top of the line equipment but is this normal? Can someone suggest a good receiver that isn't to pricey that will give me good range that I can still use my transmitter with?

As always any help is appreciated.

Make sure your receiver antennas are mounted correctly, angled 90 degrees apart, not shielded by carbon fibre or battery.

Point the transmitter antenna 90 degrees away from the model and vertical if the receiver antennas are vertical.

Nothing but air between tx and rx.  No metal fences, trees, hills, etc.

Sales says "range exceeding 500 meters", and that is sales...

Hey Cliff

Thanks for your reply. It's a good trouble shooting suggestion. I did a little digging and think I found out what the problem is. I thought that the complete wire was the antenna but as it turns out I was incorrect. The antenna is only the floppy part of the wire at the end of the antenna wire. Unfortunately the blades on my drone have shredded them. That being the case I actually have little to not any antenna. Here is the link that I found on Youtube to explain it far better then I can.

take the receiver apart to find if they are soldered in or if there is a connector (usually u.fl = ipx = ipex)

banggood.com has a good assortment of antennas on an assortment of frequencies (you want 2.4g)

or search on ebay.  maybe (the whole line):
u.fl 2.4 antenna (ipex, ipx, u.fl)
