Post by: jcoffman98 on April 07, 2017, 07:47:56 pm
DJI F450 (WIP)

Flight Controller: Revolution
LibrePilot version: 16.09
Frame: DJI F450
Motors: Emax 2213/935
ESCs: Arris 30A
Props: 1045
Power: 3S 5000
Rx: FrSky X4R-SB
FPV: Runcam 3 (preordered), Diatone DT-VTX-SP#
GPS: Ublox M8N clone

mr_w wanted to see my motors :)

My first "big" copter, still a WIP.  Waiting on Runcam 3 before final assembly.  More interested in making some videos out at the ranch, and playing with GPS features with this one.

So did it fly yet?

I have used SunnySky X2212/980(ish.. or 920, cant remember) on similar build and had the feeling of not having enough power to controllably spin 10" (yet alone 12" which I have also optimistically tried  ::)). That was also using 3S/5000.

I've only flown it los...  It seems to have plenty of power to me, although I hear many run 4S with 8045 as well.

Pretty much same frame and motors here:

If you fly the f450 without any addons, configured like in the link above (my config ;-) ) then you have enough power to go straight up to the stars ;-) if you put all the stuff on this poor little thing its getting much weaker...but its really good for taking videos...just be sure to set your pids really smooth...and be sure to fix all motor connections proberly if you use these standard motor connections plugs..also be sure that all connections to the controller are fixed very very good...especially gps and mag connections...and use ccw and cw motors...etc etc

@visesh Take a look here or search the forum there a many guys who had the same problem...
