Title: Fpv audio question?
Post by: jtrout19 on November 01, 2016, 11:26:41 pm
Hey guys so im still setting up this little 250 i got and ran into an issue. I purchase a turnigy HS1177 camera and this little camera has a mic on it. I got four wires coming out of it gnd, pwr, video, and osd. It came with this little board that has buttons on it as well.

Ok so my vtx has 5 wires. Pwr, gnd, audio, video, gnd. The vtx model number is TS58500 mini 32ch 5.8ghz 500mw.

So the question is how do i get audio out? Thanks for any help

If it doesn't have a pin for audio it probably doesn't do audio.  If it has a mic on it then maybe they took over the pin for the osd and don't support audio on it.  The hobbyking page doesn't mention audio.

You can buy tiny external mics and hook them up, I remember someone posting about doing that.

That does sort of look like a microphone in the upper corner but I don't see how you'd wire it up. Maybe @f5soh will know.

I'd just order a microphone, they don't cost much.  Something like http://www.banggood.com/FA-MT01-6-12VDC-Microphone-Pickup-Aerial-Audio-Signal-Collection-For-Camera-FPV-p-982003.html?p=SO28133399239201512V  The comments on it talk about using it as a microphone for fpv cameras that don't have a mic hookup.

Been using that exact mic on my 5" alien for a few months, works great. No problem powering it on 5V.

Here is a typical electret microphone, maybe you can locate if the osd pin also host the audio or simply add a wire soldered to the capacitor around the electret.

I am using this one as well, same voltage as my camera (5V) works connected to VTX. It's just one microphone despite photo showing 5 of them ;)

Thats a good idea. I will have to take it back apart and look again. Thanks for the diagra.
