Title: Details on the OPLink Mini Air
Post by: 0xFFFF on August 27, 2016, 03:07:24 pm
I can find the schematics for the OPLink Mini Ground but I can't find the schematics for the OPLInk Mini Air. Can someone please help?
I would like to know if the OPLink Mini Air can be used for PPM / telemetry on a non-cc3d / revo flight controller.

It can't be used with anything but the mini revo it goes with.  Not with a real revo or cc3d.

You'd have to contact the Chinese designers, it's a closed source device having nothing to do with the project.  It's essentially an antenna connector, rfm22b radio module, and voltage regulator.

If you're a good programmer it's possible you could hook it's SPI port to some other FC and modify that FC's firmware to use the oplink air but it would be a lot of work.

Thanks hwh!
I would've replied sooner but I never got the post notification.

That explains why I'm having so much trouble finding information on this!
Adding an SPI -> cPPM/PPM interface is too much work considering that it would take too much time and bulk up the module to the point where it would effect flying.
I was going to mount this on a 80 or 90mm frame.
Instead I'll get on off the shelf micro DSM2 receiver.
