Post by: brukutu on April 02, 2016, 10:51:33 pm
HI.

I have oplink working with my revo, however it is very short range. 30 CM max. Anything further is extremely slow or doenst work at all

Picture is with Oplink mini (base station) and Revo next to each other.

If you got 30cm range, there is something wrong :)

You can test connecting computer to Oplink, next to Revo and compare the Rssi level on both sides.
Set same power on both sides, maintain same position and you can see which device is wrong.
When Revo is connected to computer you can power the oplink with a usb cable plugged in phone charger module.

But what could possibly be wrong?

Revo mini transver for pc came with the plain double wip antena.
REVO HAS normal sing whip antena. (By rx receiver and gps pole)

Seems like lowering the baud to 36 solved the problems.

One RFM22 module with no power, defect.
RF stage can burn if used without load or bad antenna.

For testing purposes i put one side with a 50 ohms dummy load and got usually 5m range without issues.

36 ?

How do I check for damage ? I might switched on before without antena.

38400 baud. Not 36. My apologies

I have kind of the same issue, but mine goes for like 1 m. I try connecting the OPLink ground to the a USB external power and the laptop to the Revolution, I got really good signal, the I switched and I get the same more than 5 m. On the field I get 1 m and that's it. It doesn't matter if I move the antenna around or put it vertical or horizontal.
