I just start to build my own quadcopter. However, I can't connect Revo to my Mac (OSX El capitan 10.11.3), no matter I run the openpilot or librepilot. I am stuck at this step right now.
Anyone know the solution?

change the usb cable. Or your CC3D is possibly toasted.
One last thing . Do MAC usb reset.
Shut down the Mac and connect the power cable
Hold down Shift+Control+Option+Power concurrently for a few seconds, when the light on the power adapter blinks or changes colors you’ll know SMC reset is complete
Release all keys at the same time
Boot the MacBook Pro / Air by hitting the power button as is typical
-
The other thing to try is delete GCS from the mac and install it again, I know that sounds stupid but I had this issue, and that's what fixed it, don't ask me how or why, hope it helps

Thank you for reply. However, still doesn't work after using all the above method. :'(
All I can see is the power light on and the red / blue lights blink rapidly.

Hi
Stupid question maybe but have you tried to use more than one of the USB ports? At some point I know that some version of the MacBook Pro had issues with one of the USB ports. I don't know what hardware you run though.
-
one more trick. If not connecting and blue light blinking rapidly ? is the bootloader ok ?
Go to firmware section and reload the right bootloader. This will work without actual connection indication.
-
Still not connecting after all the tricks, even using Windows computer. As it is not connected, no way to update the bootloader.
May send it back to the shop for replacement.
Thank you very much for all of your helps and replies!!!!

I am having the same problem. It does not recognize the revolution as being plugged in. It flashes blue and orange and has a steady green. I need some direction. All the videos show it auto linking. When I use libre it has no option to use usb.

Hi
I've the same problem on Mac OS X 10.11.3. I'm using LibrePilot and I can't connect to my CC3D controller. When I plug it in I will only see a new "Serial: usbmodem1411" connection but it doesn't work.
It did work on an older Mac OS X version and it also works when I try the same thing with my Windows VM (on the same Mac/hardware, on the same USB port, with the same USB cable). So I'm sure it isn't the hardware and it's a problem on LibrePilot in combination with Mac OS X.
Do you have any ideas how to fix it? Are there others with the same issue?
Cheers
Domi
EDIT: Created a new topic https://forum.librepilot.org/index.php?topic=1351.0 (https://forum.librepilot.org/index.php?topic=1351.0) because I'm using CC3D and not the Revo. Sorry for "bit" offtopic.

Hi there
As I already wrote in this topic (https://forum.librepilot.org/index.php?topic=810.msg9807#msg9807 (https://forum.librepilot.org/index.php?topic=810.msg9807#msg9807)), I've a problem with LibrePilot on Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.3).
Are there other with the same issue? Is this is known bug? Any idea how this issue can be fixed? Trying it now for hours and nothing helped (re-install, reboot, SMC/PRAM reset).
Cheers

Not a know issue.
There is already dev using Osx el capitan.
No need to start a new thread, CC3D or Revo all boards are handled the same.
-
I have been developing on 10.10/11.x for about 8 months and have never had any issues.
-
I am on 10.11 with no problems CC3D and a Revo Mini, both have no issues.
-
Any ideas how to debug this issue? :/
-
UPDATE: It works now 8)
I don't know why but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the connected Thunderbolt Display. As soon as I've disconnected the Thunderbolt Display it worked flawlessly! So I need to be disconnected from the Thunderbolt Display!
Just to be clear: I always put the CC3D directly into the Macbook's USB 3 port, never on the Thunderbolt Display's USB port. Though, the display had some kind of interference with GCS.
I think there aren't a lot of LibrePilot users with a Macbook and a Thunderbolt Display out there, but this post might help them ;)
Of course I would like to know where the problem was and I would love to help you guys debug it. I'm a Python developer and Linux systems engineer myself, so let me know if I can do anything to pinpoint the issue.
Cheers

I ran into this and it turned out to be my Macbook Pro. I hooked the Revo to another laptop (prev OS) and it had no issues detecting the Revo. Once I upgraded the Revo, I could see it even from the Macbook Pro. I've noticed some strange things with the USB on the Mac Pro but keep forgetting long enough to drive me crazy before I give up and try a different computer. I doubt it's the OS version but that's really the only major differences.
