This was became a "spare" FC I got in because I thought it would save space on the deck of a 450 frame. Anyway.. reading through the forum I came across a Taulabs reference and like an idiot - I just tried flashing the firmware - to check out their GCS - ( boredom till the UK premier league start up!)
I ended up with a dead Atom, nothing works - no rescue - all the options are greyed out and it will not connect - nothing except a green led.
The Upgrade and Upgrade and Erase buttons start of... but time out.
Can it rescued of better off in the trash bin?
TIA

If the blue led do not flash your board do not have bootloader or firmware running.
Try a last rescue:
- Disconnect board
- Hit Rescue
- Connect board
If there is a timeout, here is two options for bootloader/firmware recovery:
using a StLink:

using a FTDI:

Thanks for that - will look at the options... I have an FTDI 132 will that be OK?

Hi, FWIW the only solution that seemed to work on my cc3d was this video, not sure if the atom works the same?

Thanks for taking time to reply... but the Atom is dead! Cannot activate Rescue or in fact anything now! Tried everything that is shown in the many threads - the online manual. But it cost around au$15 or so... so I ordered another and can start again.
It been a bad week - also fried a new unused - just setting up Revo FC - and that's in the trash now also.

If the GCS can't flash it, the last resort is using the system boot loader.
