I have this little unit which was in line with a reverse polarity incident. Lights still come on and such. I am trying to figure out if the ATmega328p is still functional on it. If not I have a replacement for it. I am wanting to know about reflashing the bootloader and where I would find it. I am assuming if I can find it then I would use pin 4 VCC and pin 3 GND and use pin 15 MOSI and pin 16 MISO which they have provided pads for? So where to get the hex file?

They're just stripped down Arduinos with a video chip added, the bootloader would be the standard Arduino one. It's packaged with the Arduino development environment. I think it even has a menu selection for something like burn bootloader.
You'd need one of the Atmel programmers like the usbasp http://www.banggood.com/USBASP-USBISP-3_3-5V-AVR-Downloader-Programmer-With-ATMEGA8-ATMEGA128-p-934425.html?p=SO28133399239201512V

Yes I have the programmer. Had to get one for my 9x. OpenTX is what i use on my TX. The chip is dead from what I can tell. Cannot get anything to communicate with it.

Too bad but at least they're fairly inexpensive boards. :)

Yeah true but I also have a spare 328p tqfp. So replacing the chip is a option as well!

If it fried the Atmel chip it probably damaged the video chip as well.

I was thinking that but the chip still gets nice and hot. I know that doesnt necessarily mean anything. But I aint doing anything with the 328p so....might as well try right??
