Title: USB Device Not Recognized
Post by: Spudman49 on June 16, 2016, 07:17:45 pm
Fellas, when I try to plug into the setup wizard, I get a popup that reads USB device not recognized. The firmware will not upload and says that
I took too much time getting it loaded, what gives. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks The Spudman

..I get a popup that reads USB device not recognized...
USB device not recognized is usually either a bad USB cable, bad board, or the boot loader on the board is either bad or has been replaced with cleanflight.

I don't know what you've done already so I'll just list what I'd check.

I'd usually swap USB cables and try again just to make sure.  If not then disconnect the board, click "upgrade and erase" on the firmware tab, and connect the board when it says to.   If that didn't work I'd try the same thing with the rescue button.

All of those failing forces replacing the boot loader the harder way.  Depending on what board you have the wiki articles https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/Recover+board+using+DFU and https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/Recover+board+using+ST-Link cover it.

The first article works only for revo type boards, for cc3d it has a link to another article.

The second article works for all boards but requires an stlink adapter.  They're pretty inexpensive on eBay and the Chinese sites but it takes time for shipping.
