Small translations right or left forward or backward
« on: October 16, 2016, 12:01:51 pm »
Once airborne I observe small translations right or left forward or backward (no wind) this is not a problem but it's just an observation.
I saw there is a possibility to intervene, via System then Gyro Bias
but I've to work on a number with many digits so makes it very complicated.
My question is: has someone tried to change these parameters ? or  has someone found a solution to this little problem
thank you

Those small translations are expected and cannot be compensated.

The gyro-meters and accelerometers detect accelerations and cannot sense "non accelerated rectilinear" motion.

To detect and compensate non accelerated rectilinear motion, you need to know your position in an absolute referential.
One such absolute referential is the earth magnetic field (that's why some uavs have a magnetometer).
Another one is GPS.
The earth atmospheric pressure is also an absolute referential and can be used to detect vertical motion.
