magnetic inclination

Was reading the wiki and came across the section where it describes magnetic inclination but I don't really understand where this comes into play. I used an online tool and my location says its 60 degrees, 11 feet.  The doc mentions something about setting Set GCS -> System -> Settings -> AuxMagSettings -> BoardRotation.

Can someone elaborate on this a bit more?

In air navigation maps often assume true north, whereas heading information is obtained from magnetic north. True north and magnetic north are not the same. Also magnetic field is irregular, changes with declination and time (online databases are updated once a year). So this information as name suggests is important for estimation of north that matches the map.

Probably you did already by setting home location on the map.

No need to set the declination yourself, simply assumes the magnetic world model Mateusz posted is already stored into the board:

After you enter the HomeLocation, the board computes the Mag vector expected for the location and resolves the heading/attitude using the received Mag vector and the expected vector Mag that should be received in that place.

If the Mag vector expected length and the Mag vector length measured differs, we can assume the Mag is disturbed and trigger an alarm.

All true, but i think what you were reading about board rotation is talking about how you orient the fc in the model. So if you didn't align the revos arrow with the front of your model you could adjust it in the settings. a lot of the older fc's have the usb port in a hard to get to location once everything is in place. So it was easier to put it in an accessible location and adjust for the boards rotation. At least that's what i thought you were talking about....
