Auto-tune question
« on: March 09, 2017, 02:12:21 pm »
Hello,

I have auto-tuned my eachine racer 250.

During this operation, it climbed up and i was obliged to reduce (once) the throttle.

When i take a llok at the results in bank 3, yaw is very high.

Question : can i fligh safely with that ?

Thank you

Mateusz

No it's not. Autotune works for me on some copters, on some it doesn't. In that particular case you can try decreasing (like i did) yaw pids by at least half. Initially I was getting motors hot due to too high yaw. I might try Easytune at some point, which used to always be good but may need more work.

As Mateusz said, AutoTune does not always work on all quads, but here is one of my 500 quads.  It has higher yaw than that.

I would hover it for 60 seconds with stock PIDs, feel motor heat, hover with AutoTune PIDs for 60 seconds, feel motor heat.  If it isn't any hotter, and it flies well, then use the AutoTune PIDs.
